Munnar

The journey to Munnar was not really an easy one as we had to opt a car from Thodupuzha. It took nearly 4 hours to reach the place and it was around 11 in the morning when we reached Munnar. Our journey groups consist of 5 and all of us were chronic bachelors. Our plan was to stay 2 days in Munnar and resume our journey to Thekkady, another hill station of Kerala.

We desperately need some rest. Thank God we had reserved our room in a hotel called Forest Haven Resorts. The hotel is constructed eco-friendly and is located on Manculam Road of Munnar. It is a two star hotel and we really enjoyed the panoramic view of cardamom plantation by sitting our rooms itself.

The hotel authorities arranged a local Jeep for sight seeing and our driver was too bachelor. The journey started and our friend Johny already opened the bottle of King Fisher and started enjoying. Oom…we started to feel the cool breeze and our driver friend advised to wear overcoats if any.

The journey itself was thrilling as the roads were very curvy. We had heard about the exclusive flower Neelakurunji which bathes once in twelve years! We were unfortunate that the season just gone and you need to wait for another 12 years. What is fascinating about Munnar is the presence of cardamom plantation everywhere. You can just feel its presence through the air we breathe.

We reached TataTeaMuseum where you can see how tea is produced. Nice museum with some historical tea producing machines. You can taste variety of tea there! Alas! Photography is permitted there and that provoked my friends.

Our driver told us about a national park of Munnar – Eravikulam around 20 km from the museum. We had our lunch and started our journey to the park. We reached within half an hour and entered the park. The park houses endangered Nilgiri goat; nice to see these special animals eating greenery of Munnar. Very special birds are another attraction of park. Bird lovers should be here at the earliest moment.

we really enjoyed the trip.we also took lot of photographs as well.Really it was an unforgettable journey.........
